Bear Digging Up an Ant Colony | Bob Armstrong's Nature Alaska

Bear digging up an ant colony shows a black bear digging into a colony of ants in Juneau on July 13, 2021.
Over the years I have noticed many diggings into rotten trees and at the base of rotten stumps in the Juneau area.
I have assumed it was mostly bears doing this.
It appears they are after the ants pupae.
