Hooded Merganser Feeds on Northern Case Maker Caddisflies

Hooded Merganser Feeds on Northern Case Maker Caddisflies shows a female merganser feeding amongst buckbean at a pond near Mendenhall Glacier in early November.
It stayed in the pond for several days and seemed to be quite successful getting these insects.
The caddisflies appeared to be on the vegetation fairly close to the water surface.
