• One Hour with a Long-jawed Orb Weaver shows this spider among the exuvia of Arctic bristletails and what happens over a one hour period.
  • I filmed this in Juneau, Alaska on September 19, 2021.
  • This spider was identified by Joey Slowik as Tetragnatha versicolor. To learn more about these spiders look at https://animaldiversity.org/accounts/Tetragnatha_versicolor/
  • I see several of these spiders on the rocks along the upper intertidal zone in the same places that the Arctic bristletails occur. They are similar in coloration and length and wonder about their relationships and behavior.
  • This video shows a Bristled Milliped approaching the spider. To see more what they look like: https://vimeo.com/532851885
  • For interesting information about these millipeds look at Bristled Millipeds
  • The next creature that visits the spider looks like a centipede, these are predatory which might be why the spider rapidly moved away from it.
  • One tiny creature moves rapidly through the area and it appears to be one of the mites.
  • Near the end of the video you can see an Arctic brisletail “jabbing” the spider with its middle tail.
