- In the M.Sc. thesis by Joyce Landingham 1982. Feeding ecology of pink and chum salmon fry in the nearshore habitat of Auke Bay, Alaska. M.Sc. thesis. University of Alaska, Juneau, AK. 132 p. She mentions that a single harpacticoid copepod (Harpacticus uniremis) was the major prey item in both pink and chum fry.
I wondered if these fish were after these copepods.
Here is great resource for information on these copepods http://www.glsc.usgs.gov/greatlakescopepods/Introduction.php?GROUP=Harpacticoid
The copepod in this video is a freshwater one — I will try to get a photograph of the one mentioned in Joyce Landingham’s thesis.
Note: this is a video in progress and, hopefully, will be updated when I find out more.
