• Testing the Raynox 2.2X lens on the Panasonic FZ200 camera is a video showing what it can do at a considerable distance from the creature. 
  • This setup gives you about  2,000 mm extension that looks good. You can go into the Intelligent Zoom to get closer which seems OK for documenting behavior.
  • This lens and camera are fairly inexpensive and very light weight to carry. 
  • And the camera does well at 120 frames per second which makes it easier to observe what is happening.
  • The Great Blue Heron is one of this years juveniles. It is mostly feeding on small sculpins in a mudflat in Juneau, Alaska. 
  • I find it interesting that the heron can see such small fish underwater. Especially since they blend in so well with the mud.
